As a photographer you get asked MANY questions before a shoot. One of my favorite questions is, "What do we wear?" My favorite answer is, "Not white shirts and khakis!" I think at one point in time our society lead many families to believe that we should all match and wear the same colors to take family photos. However, I can tell you (in my professional opinion) that point in time is LONG gone. The more texture and color you have the better. I always tell my families to pick out colors that compliment one another. If I have someone who is completely lost, I tell them to go to the paint department at Home Depot and look at a the different color palettes. One will stick out and eventually they are off finding outfits for their family session. Just recently I did a photo shoot at Casa Feliz in Winter Park. The texture and bright blue colors of this historic place are great for any photographer to work with. This momma did her research and put their outfits together perfectly. Each family member was in a different color and ohhhhh patterns galore!
Another secret- Pinterest and gap.com have great ideas for what to wear as a family to a photo shoot. So get with the times people! Don't be afraid to be bold and beautiful!!

Hello World
When clients contact me about maternity and newborn sessions they are always shocked to hear that I also offer birthing sessions. Now, I LOVE all different types of photography but I have special passion for getting a chance to capture the first look, the first touch, the first seconds that a child comes into the world (I am getting goosebumps just typing it). Just imagine being able to capture the beautiful process of it all. From the first contraction to the last push-it is a great story that can be captured so perfectly. Here is a birthing session that was very dear to me. I have photographed this couple since they were engaged to be married. I was honored to be there on the day that they became parents as well.

Downtown style with Jolene & Milo
Could you imagine having a wedding shoot with no wedding day pressure, no time constraints, and no family portraits? Imagine it is just you and the man of your dreams. Well last week I got to do just that when I met up with Jolene & Milo to do a styled shoot in downtown Orlando. They got married in March of this year but were more than willing to get dressed up and do it all over again. There was no rushing around or time constraints. It was so nice to try some new things and just have some fun. We were only interrupted (quit a few times) by cars passing and honking, or hollering congrats to the newly weds, and one guy even offered to buy shots when we were done! That usually doesn't happen on my side on the wedding day! We ended up taking over 400 shots and I had a lot of trouble deciding on my favorite ones. Here is a sneak peek at our day. Enjoy!

Mathew's Wedding
Wedding bells were ringing for Serena & Mitchell's wedding at Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club. The beautiful green, black, and ivory colors were absolutely gorgeous. It is so nice to see a couple who was willing to try something new and have such bold colors in their wedding. Our favorite part of the wedding was when Mitchell (the groom) stole the mic and started RAPPING to his new wife! They are such a fun couple and we had so much fun capturing one of the most important days in their lives. We wish you many years of happiness!
