One of my goals this year was to do a photo shoot with my own kids every month. So many times you will hear photographers say that they are so busy photographing everyone else that they don't have time for their own family. Well I can say that WAS me. I realized that just over the last four months I have seen my kids grow and change so much. That is why photography is so important to me. It documents a favorite time in our lives and the people we share with it. I want my kids to be overwhelmed with the amount of pictures that mommy takes. I want them to look back and remember mommy capturing their birthdays, first t-ball games, and eventually their wedding day, and the birth of their first born child. One day they will appreciate it because a memories last forever.
For the month of April I featured my son because this is his birth month. When he woke up on his birthday I asked if I could take a picture and he responded, "Mommy this is how four year olds pose." Its like he knew this was coming and he had been practicing for weeks. I could not ask for a better kid. He is emotional, cautious, caring, a planner, particular, and nerdy.
